Method
How we count
- Members in work: members with an employment record that covers this month and says employed. Records come from Herizon's own employment tracking sheets, automated web search checks, the work experience members add to their profiles, members' self-reports in the portal. Internship placements through the Herizon Internship Program are recorded as internships and are not counted as in work. The total still rests largely on records imported from our tracking sheets, and a member's record is refreshed only when it is checked again.
- Started a job after being unemployed: members whose records show a job that started in the last full quarter and an earlier period of unemployment that ended before it, at any time. Members whose first record already says employed are not counted.
- Salaries (estimate): members in work this month × €3,000, the average monthly salary we assume per employed member. We do not collect individual salaries.
- Taxes and contributions (estimate): 38.5% of the estimated salaries, a European average rate for income tax and social security contributions.
- Cost per employed person (estimate): about €800K of funding to date divided by members in work this month.
- Community members: people with a Herizon portal profile.
- Countries: countries of origin that members gave when they joined.
Changes in how we count
- 2024 to April 2026: we kept employment outcomes in our own tracking sheets, one per month or quarter. Points before mid-2026 show what the sheets recorded, not continuous monitoring.
- May 2026: we imported the sheets into our database, about 8,100 records from 2024, 2025 and the first quarter of 2026.
- July 2026: live tracking starts. Records now come from four sources: an automated monthly check (a web search of each member's public LinkedIn profile, read by a language model; high-confidence matches are saved automatically and a person reviews the rest), members' self-reports in the portal, the work experience members add to their profiles, and internship placements through the Herizon Internship Program (these are recorded as internships and are not counted as in work). The automated check never overwrites manual records or self-reports.
- What this means: from April to June 2026 almost no members show up as starting a job. Nobody was checking during the switch; it does not mean nobody was hired. From July 2026 on, the movement (members who started a job) is the most reliable signal. The total in work still rests largely on the imported sheets.
