June 2026 labor market report

The 60,000 global job postings tyomarkkinadata tracked this month, distilled for international talent in Finland.

The short version

  • Team Leadership jumped 100% MoM to 199 mentions, the single sharpest skill acceleration this month, signaling that companies want managers who can ship product across functions, not just individual contributors.
  • Social Media (up 30% to 237 mentions) and Digital Marketing (up 23% to 208 mentions) are rising faster than most engineering skills this month, pushing non-technical career tracks into clearer demand.
  • Sales roles fell 6% to 1,482 postings and Finance dropped 7% to 418, while Account Executive specifically climbed 18% to 453 and Marketing Manager surged 26% to 374 - the broad category is shrinking but specialist roles within it are growing.
  • Project Management grew 29% to 332 mentions, continuing a two-month upward run from 257 in May, making it one of the most consistently accelerating operational skills in the dataset.

The Account Executive and Marketing Manager gains confirm the pattern flagged in the "what changed" section: companies are investing in revenue-facing specialists even as broad Sales headcount shrinks.

Industry and seniority

By industry:

Technology dominates with 8,938 postings, up from 7,726 in May - a 15.7% increase and the largest absolute gain of any sector. Finance is the second-largest non-tech sector at 664 postings (up from 486 in May, +36.6%), suggesting financial services firms are accelerating hiring after two months of contraction at the profession level. Media (493), Healthcare (259), and Consulting (243) round out the top five. All other sectors combined account for fewer postings than Consulting alone.

The technology sector concentration - approximately 81% of tracked postings - means the data skews heavily toward software-adjacent roles. Readers in manufacturing, logistics, or public sector roles should treat the skills signal as directional rather than directly representative of their local market.

By seniority:

Level June count May count
Mid 7,310 6,139
Senior 3,385 2,829
Junior 384 196
Intern 404 322

Mid-level roles account for 64.1% of tracked postings. The junior cohort grew 96% MoM to 384, and intern postings rose 25.5% to 404 - both small in absolute terms but worth noting for those earlier in their careers. The senior-to-junior ratio remains approximately 8.8:1, so the market continues to favor candidates with established track records over recent graduates.

What this means for international talent in Finland

The clearest signal this month is the convergence of analytical and commercial skills. Data Analysis (688 mentions, +24%) co-occurs with Python and Machine Learning in 483 postings according to the skill bundle data, but B2B SaaS (821 mentions, +18%) co-occurs with Salesforce in 355 postings. These two clusters are now roughly comparable in posting volume. For international professionals in Finland who have a commercial or account management background, pairing CRM fluency with basic data literacy - SQL at 517 mentions, not necessarily a full machine learning stack - is a more realistic near-term move than retooling entirely into engineering. The Account Executive (+18%) and Marketing Manager (+26%) gains support this reading.

The Team Leadership spike (+100% to 199 mentions) is worth taking seriously even though the absolute number is modest. Finnish tech companies, particularly mid-stage scale-ups, have been consolidating teams after two years of cost discipline. Hiring for cross-functional leadership capacity, rather than pure individual-contributor output, suggests some of those companies are now in a growth phase again. For international mid-career professionals who have managed distributed or multicultural teams - a common profile on this platform - that experience is more legible to hiring managers now than it was six months ago. Documenting it explicitly in applications and LinkedIn profiles is a low-cost action with a higher expected return than it had in 2025.

Finally, the YC hiring data provides a useful leading indicator. Of 5,948 tracked YC companies, 1,474 are actively hiring (24.8%). B2B companies dominate both total count (2,167) and hiring rate (835 hiring of 2,167 total, 38.5%). Fintech is second in hiring rate at 168 of 469 (35.8%). Both sectors are well represented in the Finnish and wider Nordic startup ecosystem. Global trends in this dataset have historically appeared in Finnish job postings with a lag of roughly three to six months, particularly in the hidden or direct-application market that never reaches public boards. The current B2B SaaS and Fintech hiring signal at the YC layer is therefore likely to translate into visible Finnish postings by Q3 2026.

Methodology

tyomarkkinadata samples approximately 60,000 global job postings per month across Stripe, NVIDIA, Salesforce, and 200+ other companies. Numbers in this report come from four listed sources - a16z jobs (14,123 postings), Nordic jobs (2,000 postings), remote jobs (37,609 postings), and international job enrichments (11,500 records) - for the period ending June 2026. Skill and profession mentions are extracted from posting text. The same role can appear under multiple skills. Month-over-month changes are calculated against the May 2026 dataset. Industry and seniority breakdowns reflect the subset of postings where those fields were present and classified.
