What this means for international talent in Finland
AI, data engineering, and cloud roles continue to grow in both volume and absolute share, echoing a persistent trend seen in North America roughly six months prior. Salesforce and SQL, now nearly doubling their appearance in postings since last month, show that commercial data tooling is no longer a niche skill set in international hiring. For professionals with strong Python, data analysis, or cloud experience, reskilling into AI-adjacent or automation roles aligns directly with where labor market demand is rising fastest.
Simultaneously, roles outside pure engineering - such as account executives, customer service professionals, and project managers - are also expanding. Customer Service and Sales, in particular, have rebounded in raw numbers, even as some sales role counts fell due to startup volatility. This highlights a resilient non-tech hiring segment, often undervalued by technical job seekers. International candidates should note the recurring presence of project management and business analyst roles: these are less prone to early automation and are attractive for those able to match sector knowledge with digital skills.
The collapse in startup job postings, with a 63 percent drop, may reflect venture funding cycles or recent shocks in tech startup hiring environments. The international posting surge (+39 percent MoM) shows that mobility in global hiring is not only possible but often visible before changes reach the Finnish market. Expect the AI, cloud, and commercial data trends seen here to manifest more broadly in Finland by Q2 2027, especially in companies scaling internationally or with hybrid/remote teams.
