What you will be able to do

Skills you add to your Herizon profile when you finish: Freelancing, Consulting.

  • A floor rate worked out from the income you need
  • A one-page, project-based proposal for a specific type of client
  • A contract checklist, an invoice template and a way to track your money
  • A plan for retainers, help from others and a week that does not eat your life

Who it is for

Time per page: 15 to 30 minutes Whole course: 3 to 4 hours (11 pages, at your own speed) This is for you if you are: - Looking for a job and want to earn from your skills in the meantime - Thinking about freelancing or consulting, in any field - Already freelancing and wanting a business that lasts You need a skill you can offer as a service, a document for the exercises and internet access for the research tasks. ---

The situation you work through

Noora, a content marketer in Helsinki, looks for a salaried job and starts freelancing next to it: website copy for a small coffee roaster, from her first list of names to her first invoice and a retainer offer.

Your practice task

Put a real freelance offer together. Pick one service you could sell, calculate your minimum rate from a target income (income + taxes/costs, divided by realistic billable hours), and write a one-page project-based proposal for a specific type of client: the problem you solve, your scope, your price, and what happens next. Put the calculation and the proposal in one Google Doc and submit the link as your proof.
