This course follows Mira Koskinen, a made-up senior analyst at Pilvi, a made-up software company in Tampere with 80 employees. She was the best analyst on the floor, so Pilvi made her the lead of a team of five. Nobody trained her. She is a worked example, and you work through her first six weeks next to her.
It takes about 33 min of reading, plus exercises, a short quiz and a practice task. It teaches Team Leadership, People Management and Delegation. Pass the short quiz at the end to get a certificate.
What you will be able to do

The situation you work through
Mira Koskinen, a made-up senior analyst at Pilvi, a made-up software company in Tampere, is promoted to lead a team of five and works through her first six weeks: one-on-ones, feedback, delegation, a team goal, a mixed-culture team, and the working time, holiday, harassment and remote work duties of a Finnish team lead.
Your practice task
Plan your first weeks as a team lead on a real or expected team. Make a one page plan with four parts: a first one-on-one plan with the rhythm, three open questions and how you will follow through, a factual feedback note and a delegation brief with outcome, why, constraints, authority and two checkpoints, a table of the Finnish employer duties you carry (working hours and overtime consent, holiday timing, sick leave and health data, strain and harassment, remote work) with the act and section for each and who you ask at HR, and a short note on the two points you were least sure about. Submit the page as evidence.
